Out of the box
Physical, visual performance about creativity within limitationsYou know them, people who say you just need to think ‘out of the box’. But a box has quite a few different meanings: from ‘baby parking’, to a world domination conspiracy, from being in your ‘comfy-zone’ to a cage fight. So what do we actually mean by that?
A group of people meet in a confined space, a life-size box you can see into from all sides. Where one person works hard to get into the box, another wants all the inside space for himself, while another tries to get rid of all boundaries. The audience is spontaneously involved in the performance, which takes place both inside, and ‘out of the’ box.
With a succession of athletic dance, visual stillness and acrobatic inventions, Out of the Box reflects in a light-hearted and moving way on the tension between moving along and going your own way.
The box turns up in parks, on (school) squares, in gym halls, libraries, in theatres and at surprising locations.

‘The dancers also scan each other, with their eyes, with their bodies, slowly gracefully, for a moment there is an unexpected movement, and then it slowly falls silent again. Like predators, they wait for the right moment to strike, to outpace the other.’ – Tuur Devens / review Theaterkrant (critic’s choice / in Dutch)
‘With breathtaking acrobatics and smooth dance moves, the piece requires no words – and thus develops its very own dynamics and tension.’ – Katja Schuricht / review Taunus Zeitung
A theatrical experience full of variety and with great power of expression, which they will not easily forget. – Hendrik Jung / review Wiesbadener Kurier
