Maria Pokorska

Stagiere dans

Maria Ewa Pokorska is a Polish dancer, who grew-up close to the German border, which continuously marked her life and creative activities by the two countries, their diversity, complementarity and friction. She has been involved with theater and dans from early age on, especially connecting mixed communities close to the boarder. She is currently studying at the Contemporary Urban department of Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, with her primarily focus on a fusion of waacking, floorwork, and contemporary dance. Her performative practice is rooted in emotional intensity, gesture, storytelling, and improvisation, particularly exploring how movement combines the qualities of precision and intuition. She is fascinated by human connection, presence, and the unpredictability of shared moments in performance – which is also what drew her to the work of The100Hands.
