LINE ENGRAVERS

photo: Mostafa Abdel Aty

Engraving'is a word used to describe the action of cutting or carving patterns in hard material.

In this acrobatic and explosive energy bomb the dancers use their bodies and movement to draw all kinds of lines between each other, the space and the audience. The performance was created for the busy streets of downtown Cairo (Egypt) and was later on reworked for an abandoned printing factory in Hasselt (Belgium). Currently it's searching for new surprising locations and communities to energize and add a fresh perspective to its surrounding.

Their acrobatic towers, thier dancing between the audience, their swirling bodies over the concrete floor and the space, all of which left traces like etching needles. What an infectious energy, what an impressive display, what a striking individuality! Tuur Devens
